Social Media Policy
Friending
To respect your privacy and confidentiality, we do not accept friend requests on our personal social media accounts from current or former clients. The practice of adding clients as friends or contacts on these sites can compromise your confidentiality and may impact the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship. If you need to contact us between sessions, please use email or phone.
We use Instagram to share psychoeducation material with individuals who choose to follow our professional page. It is not a requirement that clients follow our professional Instagram page. The information we post is not a substitute for in-person therapy.
Interacting
Please do not use messaging on social networking sites, such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn to contact us. These sites are not secure and we cannot guarantee that messages will be read in a timely fashion. Do not engage with us in the comments of posts, as doing so can compromise your privacy. If you do engage in an exchange over social media it will need to be documented and archived in your client records. The best way to interact with us is by email or phone. We do not "google" clients or look up information on them for any reason. If we do come across your information online, we will avoid reading content.
We prefer using email/online platform to arrange or modify appointments only.
Text
We occasionally use text messages to communicate with clients. If you need to reach us between sessions, please do so via phone or email. Text messaging via mobile phone is acceptable for appointments and housekeeping issues only. We do not store your name in our phones, and we will not respond to personal and clinical concerns via regular email.
Website
We have a professional website that is accessible to clients. It displays information about the practice, including fees, services, and information about who we are as therapists and what areas of therapy we specialize in. You are welcome to access and review the information included on the website. If you have any questions, please reach out to us via email or phone. You can also use the contact form on the Contact page of our website.
Location-Based Services If you use location-based services on your mobile phone, you may wish to turn these settings off. While Bloom Counseling & Consultation is not listed as a check-in location on Google, Facebook, Foursquare, or other sites, if you have GPS tracking enabled on your device, others may conclude you are a therapy client based on your shared location.
Thank you for taking the time to review Bloom Counseling & Consultation’s website Social Media Policy. If you have any questions or concerns about any of the procedures or policies, please reach out to me so we can discuss further. Thank you.
